Enjoy a tour of
Athens, combining many of the city's principal modern and classical sights. This tour includes an overview of the modern city and striking contrasts to the remains of its glorious past. Drive by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament House on
Constitution Square, the Panathenian Stadium (site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896). See vistas of the Presidential Palace (ex
RoyalPalace), government buildings and elegant homes. Drive along
Panepistimiou Avenue and view the Catholic Cathedral, the Academy, University, National Library and
Omonia Square. In contrast, we visit the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and the crowning beauty and glory that was
Athens, the Acropolis with its many monuments atop its rocky base, including the awesome Parthenon, the Propylaea, the
Temple of
Athena Nike and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens.
N.B. Clients staying at the coast will be transfered back to their hotels around 15:00 with the Cape Sounion Tour bus.

Your evening dinner/tour begins with a pleasant scenic drive through the illuminated boulevards of
Athens, as far as
Piraeus,
Greece’s principal commercial port. Continue to Marina Zea, one of the busiest yacht harbours in the Mediterranean and home port to many luxury pleasure yachts belonging to
Greece’s ship owning and international jet-set communities. From here, a short drive to Mikrolimano, another picturesque yacht and fishing boat harbour, home to the ex Royal Yacht Club and many fine waterfront seafood restaurants. We finally return to
Athens and the renowned “Plaka” district, located around the base of the Acropolis, for dinner with live floor show at a typical Greek taverna.

3. Sounion

Driving along the coastal road past the wonderful beaches of GLYFADA, VOULIAGMENI, VARKIZA and countless coves, one has a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf. A crowning feature of the tour CapeSOUNION, dominated by the spectacular Temple of POSSEIDON

4. Hydra

and embark on the cruise ship at 8:15am
Sail for the island of HYDRA. In Hydra you have time at leisure for strolling, shopping or swimming. In the early afternoon sail for the island of AEGINA, passing through the narrow strait separating the Peloponnesian coast from the island of POROS. Upon arrival in Aegina you can either join the excursion to the Temple of Aphaia (extra cost ) or walk around the main town.
Lunch is served on board. Sailing to Poros for short visit. Finally, re-embark for the sail back to PiraeusPort.
7.15pm.
Arrival at Piraeus Port
and transfer to Athens.
N.B. In the winter the cruise ship returns to PiraeusPort at around 6.00 pm.
