Its most characteristic feature is its magnificent gulf, providing a natural harbour, which is possibly the largest in the Mediterranean. This, in combination, with the islands vast mineral wealth, has played and is still playing, a major role in the history, economy, culture and development of the island society throughout the last 7,000 years.
milos milos milos
It is only recently that tourism has noticed the multitude of beautiful beaches - more than 75 - with their glistening silver sand and clear blue waters of this Cycladic island, its rocks and clear waters.
The colours and morphology of the geological phenomena... the coastlines, the gulfs, the cliffs, the gorges, the hills...
are unique and it would be difficult to tire of gazing at them.
Most of the inhabitants live in the 8 villages, which are in the flat, northern part of the island.
These are the capital Plaka, Plakes, Triovassalos, Pera Triovassalos, Tripiti, Pollonia, Zefiria, and Adamas.

serifosserifosserifos
Hora, (sometimes called Pano Hora,) the old island capital, Serifos is a small island where tourism is just beginning to really develop. Its main attractions are some excellent beaches, and an unspoiled whitewashed cubistic traditional Cycladic Hora (main town). Smaller villages are scattered around the rest of the island.
serifos serifos serifos
Serifos is quite easy to get to by boat: most of the fast hydrofoils and catamarans, as well as the slower, larger steamships, that make the Western Cyclades run from Piraeus down to Sifnos and Milos stop at Serifos on the way.

- Kythnos -

KythnosKythnos or Kithnos is a Greek island and municipality in the Western Cyclades between Kea and Serifos.
It is 56 nautical miles (104 km) from the harbor of Piraeus. Kythnos is 100 km2 (39 sq mi) in area and has a coastline of about 100 km.
It has more than 70 beaches, many of which are still inaccessible by road. Of particular note is the crescent-shaped isthmus of fine sand at Kolona, where sunbathers may relax with the sea lapping at both sides of the beach.
kythnos kythnos kythnos
The island has two significant settlements, the village of Messaria or Kythnos (pop. 676 in 2001 census), known locally as Hora, and the village of Dryopis or Dryopida Dryopida (pop. 517), also known as Horio. Both villages are notable for their winding and often stepped streets, too narrow for vehicular traffic. The villages are very picturesque but in different architectural styles.
Hora has the more-typical flat roofs of the Cyclades, while Driopida's rooftops are slanted and tiled and also notable for its large Greek Orthodox Church.
kythnos kythnos kythnos
Due to its proximity to Athens, Kythnos has become a fashionable setting for vacation homes, in addition to being an accessible destination for foreign visitors.
Besides its numerous beaches and picturesque villages, it also is the site of one of the largest caves in Greece

kea kea kea kea
