Imerovigli is a traditional village and lies 2km north of Fira Town. It is situated on a higher cliff  the highest village on the Island's inside Caldera wall. Here are some of the most luxurious and traditional  accommodation on the island. The panoramic view is spectacular. Until 1800, Skaros had a castle on it where all the administrative offices of the island were resided there.
The village was almost totally destroyed in the earthquake of 1956, and the cliff-edge houses were abandoned

and also one of the most expensive areas in Greece for accommodation!
